Milind Sharma, CIOMilind Sharma, CIO

Milind has 22 years of market experience. For 3 years prior to launching QuantZ, he managed a Prop Trading desk at RBC (now Taursa spin out) where he served as Portfolio Manager for Quant EMN, Short Term & Event Driven portfolios (up to $700mm gross). For the 2 years prior to that, he served as Director and Senior Proprietary Trader at Deutsche Bank (now SABA hf) where he managed Quant EMN portfolios of significant size with input in Event Driven and larger Capital Structure Arbitrage desk mandates (under Boaz Weinstein). Prior to that he was co-founder of Quant Strategies at MLIM (now BlackRock), where his investment role spanned a dozen quantitatively managed funds & separate accounts with approx $30 Billion in AUM. The ML Large Cap Series funds (with MLIM President & CIO as Senior PM) were all 5* rated, in the Lipper top 5% & won several WSJ + Morningstar awards by the time of his departure. His Quant Strategy oversight included all of MLIM Alternatives (HedgeAccess, FoFs, HFs, Enhanced index etc). Prior to MLIM, he was Manager of the Risk Analytics and Research Group at Ernst & Young LLP where he was co-architect of Raven TM (one of the earliest derivatives pricing engines) & co-created the 1st model for pricing cross-currency puttable Bermudan swaptions. He also created the AIRAP risk-adjusted performance measure for hedge funds.

Milind has an MSCF and an MS in Applied Math from the pioneering financial engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University where he was also in the Doctoral program in Logic (AI). Other education includes Wharton, Vassar and Oxford. He has published extensively on hedge funds (JoIM, Risk Books, Wiley etc.) and is a frequent speaker at conferences.

Pratik Sharda, COOPratik Sharda, COO & Co-Founder

Pratik is currently responsible for all operational processes, daily reconciliation as well as data and accounting checks. As a founding member of QuantZ he was instrumental to the investment strategy build out pre-launch as well as in his research & trading role within the pre-cursor prop group at RBC. His 14 years of experience include RBC Prop, Digital Century (a technology hedge fund), Lehman Brothers and GE Capital. In addition to his Financial Engineering background (MFE, Berkeley), he is also a MBA and a chartered financial analyst(ICFAI) .


Robert Bai, Head of Quant Strategy & CTORobert Bai, CTO & Head of Quant Strategy

Robert is responsible for alpha research, back-testing, and quant infrastructure initiatives. He was a Ph.D. (ABD) candidate at the University of Michigan where he was a recipient of the EECS Departmental Ph.D. Fellowship Award & has published numerous technical papers in the fields of VLSI and Optimization. He has an M.S. in Industrial & Operations Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science & Engineering. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Engineering with Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has 8 years of quantitative trading and research experience from firms like UBS, Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy, and Susquehanna. His prior fund was recipient of the "Most Creative Quant Strategy" Award at the Battle of the Quants.



Esma Gregor, Manager of Investor RelationsEsma Gregor, Manager of Investor Relations

Esma has a PhD in Linguistics from Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. She has also completed the CFA Level I exam and has extensive experience in investor relations working at Paramount Group, Inc.



Alexander Alexander "Sandy" Warrick, CRO "Emeritus"

Sandy was involved full time in the buildout of the risk & optimization framework given his expertise from NorthField Risk. His family office continues to be invested with the fund and he continues with his oversight in an advisory capacity. Sandy has dual degrees in Naval Architecture from MIT and an MS in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. He spent over 10 yrs at Northfield working on Risk, Asset Allocation & Optimization before a stint at Placemark Investments. In addition to over 35 years of Quant experience, Sandy is also a CFA charter holder and has been an adjunct professor of Finance and has published/ presented extensively.

Greg Bennett, Independent Cayman Director

Greg has 18+ years of experience including UBS Fund Services, Butterfield Fund Services, HedgeServ and The Harbour Trust Co. In 2014, Greg co-founded Danesmead Partners. He graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Alberta in 1995, is a Chartered Accountant (Canada), a CPA (US), and also a CFA Charterholder.


Simon Palmer, Independent Cayman Director

Simon has spent over 18 years in the offshore financial services industry and has extensive experience of structuring and establishing offshore investment funds of all types and of advising fund boards, managers and investors. He is a graduate of Oxford University. He qualified with McKenna & Co (now CMS Cameron McKenna) in 1992 and worked as a corporate lawyer before joining Maples and Calder in 1996, becoming a partner in 2002. In 2011 he joined Mourant Ozannes where he was a partner for two years. In 2014 Simon became a principal at Danesmead Partners.
